Joynture Member Spotlight: EC1 Partners

December 18, 2014

EC1 Partners, one of Joynture’s newest members, exemplifies what it means to expand borders and chart new territories. Founded in London in 2008, EC1 Partners (EC1 is the postal code of the company’s British headquarters) can be described as “a financial technology sales headhunting firm.”

“We specialize in attracting and placing the best sales candidates using our ever-expanding network and a proactive approach,” said Kristy McDermott, Researcher for EC1 Partners. “My job is to support the consultants in identifying top candidates for our vacant roles. It is my responsibility to build relationships and qualify candidates in order to place them in the most fitting position.”

After achieving significant success in London, Natalie Betts, Director of EC1 Partners, relocated to New York to expand their physical domain westward. “Our contacts have always been global, but with 30 percent of our revenue generated from the U.S. market for three consecutive years, it was clear that we needed to create a permanent presence in North America.”

EC1 opened their initial U.S. office in Midtown in the summer of 2013 and looked to Joynture to accommodate room for their continuing advancements. “The growth of the U.S. office is a huge triumph,” Natalie said. “In just over a year we have expanded our team from one to four, soon to be a team of six.”

“The modern design of the open plan workspace makes it an ideal setting for meetings. Many of our clients have already utilized the space. It provides a professional and inspiring environment for client activity and staff morale,” she said. “We also feel a strong synergy with the neighboring offices as many are affiliated with the financial technology market.”

Beyond the professional benefits of membership in a coworking space, Joynture’s recreational offerings have added reprieve (if not a little heated rivalry) into the EC1 daily grind. “The ping pong table adds a special break into my day and adds some fun and friendly competition between coworkers,” Kristy said. “Sometimes I even let them win!”

Joynture cofounder Shahzad Latif believes EC1 is a great addition to the coworking community. “I am proud of the international diversity EC1 Partners brings to Joynture and eager for the continued accomplishments the EC1 crew are sure to achieve,” he said.
